Beautifully restored Georgian pub on the
village high street. The extensive main
bar leads down from the original
wood-panelled area via stone-walled
rooms to the cosy patio garden at the
rear. There is a very pretty dining
room, the rear lounge was once a coal
cellar. Warm up beside the log fire in
winter. The food in the bar/garden is
imaginative and well-presented. Closed
Monday lunch-times and no food served on
Sunday evening.

An old coaching inn, sadly, has lost
much of its original decor over the
years. Ash Vine Challenger is sold as
Mummers Ale.
