WYE VALLEY Butty Bach (H)
Dating from the 1730s this partly
timber-framed building was converted
from a blacksmith's to a pub a century
ago. Now this smart, warm and welcoming
establishment acts as a popular
community pub and noted eating house.
The stone-flagged public bar area, with
its real fire, remains the heart and
soul of the pub. In the lounge area an
elevated side-extension and a recently
incorporated rear room provide seating
for diners attracted by award-winning
food at sensible prices (booking always
advisable). Externally the pub is
transformed by a mass of colourful
flower baskets throughout the summer. No
children.
