Centre of the expanding Halfpenny
Brewery empire, this twin-roomed,
wooden-floored brewpub flourishes, with
up to six Halfpenny ales available.
Renowned for its parties, friendly
clientele and unusual choice of games
(including Aunt Sally), this
enthusiastic establishment makes for a
memorable drinking experience. Two
fireplaces flank the front room, and an
eclectic array of paraphernalia adorns
the walls. They host a wonderful beer
festival August Bank Holiday weekend.
Smokers can watch the brewing from a
covered patio at the rear. There are six
letting bedrooms.

Thames, originally the alms house of a
priory dissolved in 1472. Flagstone
floor and low ceiling. Comfortable
family room off the lounge bar. Highly
original menu. Well known for live
music, especially jazz which is to be

separate building. Aunt Sally. Well
worth seeking out. Guest beers.
