Built 300 years ago and serving as an
inn for 200 years, this pub plays a
pivotal role in the local rural
community. An open log fire in the bar
and split-level interior creates a
welcoming ambience. Excellent selection
of food cooked by the landlord. It is
allegedly haunted by the ghost of Archie
Carrow, who was the landlord for 50
years. The pub is thought to have been a
part of the nearby Dyrham estate,
managed by the National Trust. Child
friendly garden.
